Gemelle’s is cosy family run restaurant in the heart of Latin Quarter of Ireland’s favourite city, Galway.

Paulie Donnellan, the owner and head chef of Gemelle’s is a local Galway businessman who opened his first restaurant in 1991 in Middle street. To celebrate the birth of his twin daughters Paulie moved to Quay Street in 1998 and renamed the restaurant Gemelle’s – Italian for twins.

Born and reared in Galway, Paulie has seen many changes in the city however community spirit has always loomed large in his business ethics. Paulie has vowed to support small local businesses in the food and drink industry. He sources his product from Galway based suppliers as well as small family run businesses from all over the country.

At Gemelle’s you are not only treated to a warm cosy and friendly atmosphere but also our recession busting menu. Anytime Sunday to Wednesday and until 6.30pm, Thursday to Saturday you can indulge yourself to two courses from the a la carte menu for just €20 per person. All food is home made and prepared by our young talented chefs, Meelis Susi and Laura Haugh led by the head chef Paulie. You may also add a bottle of their house wine for just €16.50 extra.

With the extensive menu and wine list catering for all tastes it is a fine dining experience. Relaxing atmosphere, Great food and friendly service  make your evening an unforgettable.

In summer months you can enjoy your meal or a glass of wine in our outside dining area and watch lively Quay street. 

For all you party needs, from hen and stags to birthday and anniversary celebrations Gemelle’s offers their private function room with no room hire charge. Party guests arrive to champagne reception followed by two or three course meal with a bottle of wine between two people. Party packages start from just €35 per person. Gemelle’s has also wide range of signature cocktails and shooters to get the party started, The Manager is happy to help organise your after party and on hand to ensure you have a night to remember in the Latin Quarter of Ireland most loved city.

This cheerful and smart restaurant has a buzzing atmosphere, efficient service, and is truly amazing value... beautifully presented pates and terrines, generous portions of succulent duck and pork (and indeed much more choice than this), all for 20 euros for 2 courses! Unbeatable surely in a city location that is dedicated to restaurants of every kind, with wine also available at 15 euros a bottle. Not to be missed for a fun and fulfilling night out.

I just love this restaurant! In the heart of Galway city...it provides a friendly and cosy atmosphere to suit all occasions. The food is delicious...a very diverse menu with lots of fish dishes and a lovely selection of wines. Very efficeient service and prices are very reasonable...early bird menu goes all night..cheap cheap. If you're visiting Galway be sure to visit gemelles!
